Re: Indian Rosewood low-tuned 12 String

Joe - it looks great!!! We know it will sound awesome. Sorry if I missed this, but where did you get your tortise shell bindings? Last time I checked with the larger suppliers there was a ridiculous $32 surcharge for "hazmat service fee" material courtesy of the DOT ???

Re: Indian Rosewood low-tuned 12 String

Joe. Looking good! My variation on the slotted headstock is to keep drilling overlapping 1/2" holes all along slot (with drill press). Then clean up the edges with a chisel, then file. Like John P I get too nervous with my jig saw, it has too much mind of it's own!

Re: Indian Rosewood low-tuned 12 String

Joe looking good. Will be interesting to follow along. So I have a few questions on your scale length of 26 1/2" ... Background: I play in several open tunings ... going down to C or D. Pretty much all guitars work ok in D (dropped D or DADGAD). Now 'C' get trickier. Only a few of my 'regular' ...

Re: Thermally treated GC Build

Joe - looks great! Nice to see TM white spruce getting out in the world :-) Do you make the tailpieces? That looks like a specialty in and of itself.

Look forward to hearing it too.

Re: Falcate bracing

I have a perhaps a more fundamental question (or stupid one): Trevor employs the top and bottom placement of the carbon fiber because it increases the flexural rigidity of the brace what is "flexural rigidity"? and how does that improve things? More rigidity with less mass? I know we gener...

Re: Falcate bacing

haha - the same thing crossed my mind a couple of weeks ago reading through one of John Parchem's threads.

I'm planning something like this for a mandolin build in the near future. Stay tuned. (plus I need to talk with you about TM maple availability for mando neck and backs)
