Re: Going to build a new "old" guitar
Nice work Grant! The rosette and tuners are a real achievement under any circumstances. Very nice.

Re: John's Mandolin
You're not too picky Grant - but maybe over optimistic that a set of plans will ever answer all the questions. So far it hasn't worked for me yet. In my experience building some fiddles, banjos and guitars from books or full size plans -- I've found errors and omissions in all of them regardless of ...

Re: Indian Rosewood low-tuned 12 String
You sure do some fine work Joe and it's really nice to follow along. I'm glad to see you posting a build. Your choice of materials is just outstanding. The binding and purfs and pick guard along with the guitar woods are a match made in heaven. Some "purists" shun non-wood bindings. But th...

Re: Documenting my first total thermally modified build
Looks great Grant. I also love the look of a vintage guitar and for my very personal preference it just seems more inviting than a factory dipped in finish look. Your modified wood guitar has that look. I like wood that looks like wood and also like seeing a bit of the hand of the builder hidden in ...

I love your bracing system Grant, and enjoy the heck out of watching the process every time. Can't wait to hear what this one sounds like. Thanks for breaking new thermo ground here!

Re: 2 new bar fret guits
Yup, magnificent piece of wood Grant. When I showed my wife she said get some. Not for a guitar mind you, "people never see the back of a guitar, just hang it on the wall, like watching a fireplace". Damn good description if you ask me.
Wood is such nice material!!

Re: 2 new bar fret guits
I sure love the look of the "truss" braces Grant. And the fact that they are functional in the way you overlap the X's. Nice work as usual.
