IIRC Manuel Contreras did some "falcate" bracing in the early seventies:

Wow Joe, this is just a beauty! If a guitar is blonde it doesn't mean it is stupid. I also would leave it its natural colours. You'll see that daylight will do wonders after finishing it!

I'm a bit late to the party, but I have to say that I find look of the finished guitar for several reasons quite cool. Amongst other things I see it as a strong statement against "wood beauty snobbery". Further, the term "old look" (for a guitar) may have to get redefined! :lol: ...

Grant, I love your idea to make a "viewing port" :lol: . You also could mount a camera inside and inlay a monitor in the headstock if that space would not yet be occupied by the logo. Well not really, but at least we have your build thread here. :) Good to see that you have more of these s...

Baked rosette? Just kidding, actually thought of doing some wood just to get different colors. Cherry turns a nice shade and really brings out the flame in Maple as we saw in the other thread.
