Re: Double Cut Santana build

Very nice build. Very informative. Guess I'm getting pickier at what impresses me in these forums. Your gave me some good ideas on how to build better. Nice axe you've got going on there. I like the way you lined up the dots on the neck. Simple things like that make a diff. Thanks for sharing.

Stetsbar Trem

Looking around the net checking out custom guitars and I came across a new tremelo that doesn't require routing. Been looking for something like that. A bit pricey at $219 but it beats routing thru nice tonewood. Saw some axemeisters using it on Youtube. Looks like it works good. Here's the link: ht...

Re: New here, Bass just finished

Started building some more axes. Got a Les Paul type neck thru started and neck wood cut out for two basses. I can't believe how much I've got done in a few days on these as opposed to the months of work on the bass. That thickness sander makes all the diff, plus I think I know a little more the sec...

Re: Amps and Moddage

I wish I still had my old bass amp. My fave was a Sunn Collesium 880 head with 2-15" JBL K-145's and an 18" JBL K-151. Played a Rickenbacker bass thru it. Like a fool I sold it all as my family life was taking it's toll on being able to play. Gee I think of all the guitars and basses I hav...

Re: New here, Bass just finished

I really like the Ipe fretboard. Gives it a nice sound and no way I'll ever wear it out. Took a while to get the radius sanded. Went through a bunch of sandpaper with my LMI radius block to get it right. Gotta watch out for splinters on it when you work with it. Those guys are sharp as all get out. ...

Re: New here, Bass just finished

The reef tank sort of happened. I was given a 55 gal tank and my wife popped up and said,"Let's do saltwater!". Three years later I have a full blown reef. Not as elaborate as yours was, but it's fun. Kids (and grown up kids) love it when they come over. I've been playing my new bass in ch...
