Edit. I just checked and it is not the correct size. Plus I don't need the pearl rings. The small crescents might work, but they are $3.85 each and I can cut 2 out of a $.60 9/16" pearl dot in about 5 minutes. The abalone trefoil shapes are twice the size I use. My goal is to be as close to the original guitar as I can.

Steve, I did some more checking. The Depaule rosette has an inside diameter of 4.25". The OUTSIDE diameter of the rosette on the guitars I am replicating is 4.185". The outside of his rosette would come dangerously close to the waist of the guitar. The little crescents he sells are 17 x 7mm, the ones I need are 13.5 x 5mm. The little 3 lobed pieces are 13 x 9mm, I need 8.5 6mm.

Same thing with the tuners you can purchase. I printed out the diagram of one to scale and it won't fit on the peghead of the guitars I am building. Too big.

Too bad people don't make "replica" parts that can actually be used on an accurate replica instrument. Leaves little choice but to make your own.

Nice work Grant! The rosette and tuners are a real achievement under any circumstances. Very nice.

I nave been negligent in keeping up my posts. I have photos of everything and will post the process once I get them organized. In the meantime, here are a few photos of where I am at, Danny is about at the same point with his.

Absolutely stunning, Grant, and ditto what Steve K said about your rosette! - is that your "White Spruce" for the top??
