Crate top '51 Tele build

Well I haven't been here for a while but I have been busy. Built a '51 Tele crate top bass. If you don't know what a crate top is it's a guitar with an old wooden crate for the top. I used a dynamite crate for mine. The body is mahogany and chambered. The neck is maple w/rosewood fret board (a used Squier jazz neck until I get the other one built). It will be three piece maple w/maple fret board. The maple is from an old gym floor that I scored last summer. A Seymour Duncan SCPB-3 single coil passive for the electronics.
The wood pile
The body rough cut and the chambering is started
Chambering done
Gluing the top pieces together
I need to do some triming to get a good fit

Hey Tedward, good to see you back!
Can you link some bigger images? I have to use a telescope for those. :~) (gettin' old)

Hi Tedward,
Hey, check
this thread and see if following it step-by-step will solve it. I think you are grabbing the thumbnails from Photobucket, and you want images that are at least 640x480. In fact, I usually post images 800 pixels wide, unless shot in "portrait" orientation, then I usually use 600 wide. Maximum is 1024 in either direction, however, those big images do make the forum load slowly for some folks.
If that tutorial is not up to date, let me know and Eben or I will go back through it and fix it.

As you can see the pieces don't fit together now so, I had to trim the "fingers" to get them to fit.
Now they fit nice and snug
Another pic of the gluine of the two top pieces
Off to band saw to get the tops cut close to shape
